A white rabbit has been baffling commuters after it was spotted travelling apparently alone on London’s public transport network.
The animal was spotted sitting on a seat on the 254 bus in Hackney by Matt Hepburn, who tweeted a photo of the unexpected passenger on Friday evening.
The snap has since been retweeted over 18,000 times, with over 63,000 likes.

Matt later informed fellow tweeters: ‘So I tracked down the owner: a laid back, space hippy and apparently he does this often.’
He added that he had to stop a family from treading on the animal.
Just hours later, Jo Duffy tweeted a photo of a white rabbit on the London Overground to Hackney, with others reporting similar sightings.
Predictably, the photo prompted a flurry of Alice in Wonderland jokes, with one Twitter user commenting: ‘No! There is a WHITE rabbit on your bus.

‘Does it have a pocket watch? Have you even looked? IS IT LATE? Have you asked? FOLLOW THE RABBIT!’
And another joked: ‘He’s late. He’s late. For a very important date.’
While others wondered if the rabbit had a ticket or got off at the right stop.
