An American tourist couldn’t stop laughing after being showered affectionately by a playful baby elephant during a visit to Thailand.
The heartwarming moment was captured on video, featuring a baby elephant named Suki joyfully cuddling with a tourist at Chia Lai Orchid, a sanctuary in Chiang Mai dedicated to rescuing elephants.
Watch the video at the end.
In the clip, Suki playfully nudges the tourist with her trunk, attempting to grab hold of her. Suki lifts one of her legs when that doesn’t quite work, causing the tourist to roll over before the baby elephant flops down on her.
Despite the playful roughness, the tourist smiles and giggles, enjoying the unique encounter.
The sanctuary reassured viewers that “no humans were harmed in the making of this video,” which is a relief considering that Suki, still a calf, could weigh up to 200 pounds.
As the two continue their playful interaction, they move closer to Suki’s mother, who remains calm, munching on grass, seemingly unfazed by her calf’s antics.
Towards the end of the video, a friend of the tourist joins in, and the three enjoy petting and feeding the energetic Suki, creating a memorable and joyful moment at the sanctuary.
