The adorable moment a tourist discovers five ELEPHANTS drinking water from her hot tub

A hot tub overlooking an African game reserve has proven an irresistible indulgence – even for a herd of elephants.
In an adorable video, a holidaymaker got the shock of her life when she wandered onto her lodge balcony, only to discover five of the large beasts had got there first.
The tourist captured on film the astonishing moment the thirsty creatures could be seen sipping and splashing the water from her tub.

Confronted by the sight of the herd through her window, the video begins as the traveller carefully opens the door to her porch and approaches the creatures.
The animals seem unconcerned by her arrival and even a baby elephant can been seen dipping its trunk into the water.
Seemingly undeterred by their large tusks, the filmmaker edges closer and captures footage of the wild animals quenching their thirst.

The video was uploaded to Reddit via Imgur by user SlimJones123 a day ago, and has already received over 2,000 comments from fascinated viewers.
One user claimed to recognise the pool from a previous stay and speculated on its identity, which is currently unknown.
‘This is one of the pools at Thanda Game Reserve in South Africa,’ they commented on the incredible clip.
‘I’m guessing Lodge 3, because it’s the elephants’ favourite. I stayed there earlier in the year, it’s an amazing place.’

According to the National Elephant Centre, adult elephants can eat between 200-600 pounds of food a day.
They also can drink up to 50 gallons of water a day – about as much as a standard bathtub holds.

As herbivores, they typically eat tree foliage, bark, grass and twigs as part of their diet.
